Blog from the road

Post by raz0red » Wed Jul 05, 2006 6:04 pm

Figured I would start a little blog to update everyone on what I am doing on the road.

Yesterday we went to Yosemite in the Sierra-Nevada mountain range. That probably doesn't sound very gaming related. However, due to a road closure, we were forced to spend 2 days on the southern end of Yosemite. The closest location to stay was Oakhurst. Oakhurst? Sound a bit familiar?

For those regular listeners of the podcast, Oakhurst is where the headquarters of Sierra On-Line was located, "back in the day". Oakhurst is very small and still has the small movie theater that we discussed during the podcast. While in Oakhurst we decided to go bowling. They had a pretty decent arcade there, although I wasn't able to get any photos (didn't take my camera) sigh...

I did however take some photos of Oakhurst, the old Sierra building, etc. You can check them out here:

I will try to post any photos I get of stuff that is gaming related on my trip. I will definitely post a bunch of photos Saturday night, after the first day of the California Extreme classic gaming show.

Hey all. I have uploaded the pictures I took yesterday at California Extreme.

I haven't had time to yet to go through, delete the lames ones, adjust brightness, etc. But, I wanted to get something up as soon as possible. When I get back I will go through and fix them. On the next podcast I will go through what I saw, the different presentations from the classic game developers, etc.

YES...
I've been waiting for these! It looks like there are still alot of new games mixed amongst all of the classics. Its good to see that there is still enough interest in Coin-ops to encourage new game development.

Looking forward to the Twitchcast!

Excellent job of the shots! Hope you have a GREAT TIME!!

Ah yeah, the double ended pinball. Believe it or not, that is "Joust Pinball". It is an awesome game, and it looks like not many of them were produced (Listed at the pinball database as only 402).

If you ever see one, play it! It rocks.
