Epyx: Reborn?

Post by iamsjn » Sat Sep 16, 2006 11:21 am

I refuse to believe this news went unnoticed over here at the Asylum. But just in case, feast your eyes on this-

If you were an avid gamer in the mid to late 80's and 90's then Epyx was a household name for you. Well prepare yourself. Epyx, makers of titles such as California Games, Impossible Mission, The Jumpman series as well as Summer & Winter Games are making a comeback!

System 3 (a development house) has secured the rights to the Epyx name as well as the entire Epyx library!

Even more reason to buy a PSP, DS or Wii!!

That is very cool! I loved the Epyx games back in the day. I spent so many hours playing all of the Summer, Winter, World, and California games titles. I also really enjoyed the Pitstop games.

I just really hope they include Breakdance, that game was the bomb! :D

HA!!!
I'm ashamed to say that I had that game! I had many, many, many of the Epyx titles. Some of my favorites were:

-Impossible Mission
-The GAMES (Winter, Summer & California)
-Temple of Apshai
-Sub Battle Simulator

Funny, I always thought Beach head I & II as well as BC's Quest For Tires were done by Epyx. I guess you learn something new everyday!

Here's a little something for ya -

I remember Temple of Apshai. Wow, I hadn't thought about that game in years. Good to hear about Epyx's comeback.
